Art, has the unique ability to reach observers in unexpected ways that transcend social, economic, gender, or language differences. Art awakens repressed memories, evokes suppressed longings and empathizes with the loss of survivors, while poignantly depicting these experiences to others.
Creating Unheard Voices, Unheard Wisdom has been life-changing for me. This show has allowed me to utilize my skills as a fashion designer, studies in the textile department at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the media of paint and sculpture. I have evolved as an artist through this work, learned about the darkness of domestic violence and sexual assault, the power of healing and human goodness. I am grateful for this art. Through these pieces I share my sense of purpose and desire to inspire others to share their greatness through their own wisdom and voice.
